Yes. This is the complete 6-month CORE Certification Program. Participants complete pre-work, attend the in-person workshop, participate in monthly cohort calls, complete assignments, and sit for the certification exam.

Yes. The workshop is a required component of the certification process.

The workshop provides hands-on learning, role-playing, case studies, and practical application of the Financial Transitionist® tools and protocols. Participants leave with approximately two-thirds of the tools introduced and practiced, creating the foundation needed for successful implementation during the remainder of the program.

The Financial Transitionist® methodology is adaptive and experiential. While the tools themselves can be learned through reading, effective implementation requires guided practice, feedback, and real-world application.

The workshop gives participants the opportunity to:

• Practice the tools in real-life scenarios
• Learn the protocols and process flow
• Receive coaching from trainers
• Build confidence before applying the tools with clients

It is recommended that those who have previously enrolled/ completed the CeFT program attend the workshop as a refresher, learn from interactions with other CeFT and establish connect with the new entrants to the CeFT program. However, the workshop alone does not provide certification.

The certification pathway requires completion of the full 6-month program, including cohort participation, assignments, and examination.

You do not need to be a CFP® professional to participate.

Professionals with other qualifying financial designations may be eligible if they operate under appropriate supervision or regulatory requirements. Those who do not meet credentialing requirements may still participate and use the Financial Transitionist® designation where applicable.

• You will begin learning and practicing tools during the workshop. Many participants start integrating certain concepts immediately.

  The six-month program is designed to help you gradually build competency, develop standard operating procedures, and confidently integrate the tools into your client work.

The tools are only one part of the methodology.

The true value comes from the training, understanding when, why, and how to use them within a client's transition journey. The training teaches the adaptive framework, process, and integration strategies that allow professionals to use the tools effectively and confidently.

Several of the tools have already been approved by compliance departments at various firms. However, compliance requirements vary by organization.

Participants should work with their firm's compliance department regarding the implementation of client-facing tools and materials.

Upon successful completion of the program and examination, you will earn the appropriate credential and may begin using it in accordance with program guidelines.

To maintain your credential, you must:

• Pick your membership level 
• Remain in good standing
• Complete annual continuing education requirements
• Earn a minimum number of FTI-approved CE credits (including at least 5 credits through FTI)

FTI also offers continuing education opportunities, including CFP® CE and Ethics credits.

Organizations such as NAPFA and ChFC® programs may recognize continuing education credits; however, participants are responsible for submitting CE documentation according to their organization's requirements. 

Participants in good standing may have access to co-branding opportunities for select client-facing tools and resources.

Yes, the monthly calls are recorded for review purposes. You are expected to attend at least 4 of the 6 monthly calls live + the in-person workshop. If you are not able to, your trainer will discuss your options.
