How does Access Training Work?

Access Training is for passionate professionals with a willingness to commit to four months of live "experience" learning and self study courses to learn how to skillfully work with clients during chaotic times filled with uncertainty. Although practitioners from various fields are welcome to apply, please know that the curriculum assumes a working knowledge of comprehensive financial planning, therefore solid technical skills are a prerequisite.

It is a 4 month on-demand training program, live “experience” calls, intensive casework, role play, and in-person collaboration with the most engaging community of forward-thinking professionals in our industry.

What is the difference between Core and Access?

  • Access Training provides the same educational context as Core, however, rather than committing to a 12-month training program, you are committing to each level for 4 months and are able to start the subsequent level at your convenience.

Am I a CeFT once I complete the levels?

  • No, just like Core, you must complete the entire training program as well as complete an exam prep course, sit for and pass the exam. But, you can say you’ve had training with the Financial Transitionist Institute.

Do I have to take all of the levels?

  • By signing up for Level 1, you are not committing to the entire training program. However, you will only glean as much insight and knowledge as the levels you choose to complete. We’d like to see you complete all three and, ultimately, become certified!

How many CE credits can I get?

  • Each Level allows you to receive credits from the CFP Board, so you can set the pace based on how many you need! Access Training Levels are approved for the following credit amounts upon completion of coursework:

    • Level One is approved for 15 credits
    • Level Two is approved for 12 credits
    • Level Three is approved for 8.5 credits

This comes to a total credit offering of 35.5 credits!

*If you take all three levels within the same CE reporting period through the CFP Board, you will receive their maximum of 28 credits per reporting period (30 credits excluding 2 credits for ethics).

*The CeFT® is a level-up designation. This means that although anyone with at least five years of face-to-face client contact can apply to Core and attend the full year of training in Financial Transitions Planning, only those with a CDFA, CFP®, CFA®, ChFC, CIMA®, CPA/PFS, CPWA, or CWS may sit for certification.
